Wash Park Cares’ Free Ice Cream Social

The Ice Cream Queen is back — but this time I’m bloggin’ for a cause.

Washington Park Cares is a local non-profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of South Denver residents over the age of 55. The organization offers favors from yard work to home repairs to home-delivered meals for folks living in the Wash Park neighborhood. All the members need to do is dial one phone number for speedy assistance.

Next week, the group will be celebrating its third year lending a hand with a free ice cream social. Let’s keep Wash Park Cares alive by coming out to support their efforts to provide care and community support. Grab a cone and get involved — and you’ll still have time to squeeze in that volleyball game afterwards.

When: Wednesday,  June 8, 2011,  3-5pm

Where: Washington Park  via Missisippi Ave off Franklin, Picnic Area #3 on the North side of the street
