Wonderbound has had a busy summer – as dance companies go, they leapt into their “off season” with the dancer-produced “Industrial Project,” and have offered a variety of workshops led by the dancers themselves. June saw Sarah Tallman’s “Dance Mixology,” and this Saturday is the final chance to catch a workshop with dancer Damien Patterson. 
Next Friday, July 19, they will perform an encore performance of this spring’s Perpetual Beauty as part of Arvada Center’s Centerfest. This two act piece opens with the January 2013 Mizel Center collaboration, From Darkness to Light. With a score arranged by Ben-Amots specifically for Wonderbound, the ballet pays homage to the struggles and endurance of humanity during the Holocaust.
The second half of Perpetual Beauty features Artistic Director Garrett Ammon’s choreography set to Tchaikovsky’s well-known “Serenade for Strings,” as played by members of the Colorado Symphony. The movements will be both of classical and contemporary influence.
Tickets for the show range from $15-$32, and can be purchased at the Arvada Center box office: 6901 Wadsworth Blvd, or by calling 720.898.7200. Showtime starts at 7:30, with the outdoor venue opening at 6:30 pm. Concessions will available, and the show will go on, rain or shine. Centerfest takes place at Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, also at the address previously listed for the box office.
