Just Announced – Weird Al to Play Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony

‘Weird Al’ Yankovic is hitting the road with a new tour, and Red Rocks will be one of many stops on this theatrical show series. That’s right — the “Ridin’ Dirty” satirist with a bushy mane of hair just as recognizable as Carrot Top’s will play Red Rocks next summer, on August 1 — but with a clever twist.

“Not only are we bringing back the costumes and the props and the big video screen, but also… every single night we’ll be performing with a full symphony orchestra,” Yankovic announced in a press statement.

No, he’s not cramming an entire symphonic orchestra onto his tour bus. Rather, Yankovic will perform with local orchestras from each city he visits. Aptly titled “Strings Attached,” Yankovic has invited the Colorado Symphony to perform with him for the Denver stop of his national tour. It’s also a chance to see the Colorado Symphony struggle to maintain their professional decorum in the presence of such a silly performer.

The show is set to take place on August 1 at 6 p.m. at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Tickets go on sale November 16 at 10 a.m. and can be found here.
