Ever faked an orgasm? Or simply settled for orgasm-less sex?
If you’re a woman, your answer (statistically) is probably yes. Surveys conducted in 2017 by the Kinsey Institute suggests that men, straight or gay, climax about 85 percent of the time during sex, while lesbians do so about 75 percent of the time. Straight females, on the other hand, placed third, hitting orgasm during about 63 percent of sexual encounters. The gender gap is real, and it extends past the workplace. Equality between the sheets is something that Vibrant is fighting for. Originally created by longtime Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountain’s team members in 2015, Vibrant’s mission is to promote happy and safe sex for all.
“We believe that all of us in the health and wellness space can spread the word that pleasure is a fundamental component to healthy sexuality,” expressed President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. “I’m thrilled to see Vibrant leading that charge, while at the same time becoming an innovative partner supporting Planned Parenthood’s mission.”
In an effort to bridge the orgasm gap Vibrant is hosting an orgasm day, Tuesday, March 20. The event will take place at Cultivated Synergy in RiNo. It includes a “clothes on” orgasm workshop led by licensed clinical professional and resident sexologist Dr. Laura Deitsch. Deitsch has her doctorate in human sexuality and is a respected authority on bedroom health. Following the orgasm workshop, BedPost Confessions, an event-series focusing on sexuality and storytelling, will host performers as they share their unique stories around sexual experiences. In addition to the orgasm workshop and BedPost story-time, the event will feature an intermission sex toy pop up shop and chance to win a free vibrator.
Gender equality should extend from the office to the bed, and everywhere in between. So if you’re feeling a deficit in “Vitamin O,” don’t settle for less than a full dose. Vibrant’s Orgasm Day is attempting to bridge the gap for women across the metro. And tickets are $15 and include two drinks, light bites and entry.
This event is 21 and over. It takes place Tuesday, March 20 at 2901 Walnut Street, Denver. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. RSVP here and check out their Facebook page for more information.
