Denver Fashion Weekend is almost here for its spring 2015 debut. There will now be four nights of nonstop fashion fun at the City Hall Amphitheater in Denver. The weekend will include styles from designers both nationally and locally, including Los Angeles-based designer, Oscar Utierre.
Oscar Utierre’s designs represent beauty as well as authenticity in fashion today. His mission is to change society’s perspective on the idea of beauty by crossing common boundaries and telling stories with each collection. Utierre’s pieces are reflections of his own creativity and passion but allow for people to open their imaginations.
“We create an entire collection,” Utierre said. “One concept – one color story. We create an entire collection to showcase as whole. Being able to show an entire collection allows us to tell the audience a story that the audience may interpret however they like and come up with their own answers to why we made certain choices.”
This collection for DFW will include never-before-seen garments in a conceptual show that gives the audience a unique experience. Some of the garments are expected to be on some of Hollywood’s hottest stars in upcoming red carpets and publications.
Preparing a collection for DFW from afar can be a challenge, as local designers may have more of an advantage. Utierre’s small team commits long days to finish projects in a timely manner. Doing other fashion week shows, such as New York Fashion Week, has allowed the team to master the art of showcasing a collection to different areas.
