Mercedes Benz Fashion Week just wrapped up and I for one, loved every second of it. I almost wish we could fast forward to spring, just so could wear these latest looks now! I do love to see that there are more and more collections at fashion week that are at a more moderate price point. There are a lot of contemporary lines that you can easily find and that are not outrageously priced. I think a lot of people feel that if they don’t live in New York, then the runway fashions have nothing to do with them. But with collections from Tommy Hilfiger, LaCoste and even J.Crew, runway fashion is more accessible than ever! It doesn’t have to just be a fantasy, it can be a reality. Here are some of the contemporary collections that I loved from fashion week.

BCBG Max Azria

BCBG showed a lot of sheer fabrics mixed with leather details that almost resembled a harness. There was a lot of lace and prints as well as a prints mixed with solids. Black and white kept popping up in many shows. BCBG showed black and white but also pops of bold colors. Orange was the color of the season this past spring/summer and this coral/peach version is carrying through to next spring. I love the feminine coral mixed with black, it’s a great way to not look too girly. BCBG’s price point is typically between $100.00 and $500.00. It’s definitely possible to score a great dress for around $300.00!

Charlotte Ronson

Charlotte Ronson is a hip and fashion forward line that is also reasonable in price. For spring 2013 Ronson also showed a lot sheer details done in neutrals and pale yellows. But she showed color blocking done in bolder colors as well. The mixing of prints was definitely one of main trends for next spring and was shown in almost every collection and Charlotte Ronson was no exception. I thought this collection was young and fun, but still could be worn by many different women and with her line    typically starting at $200.00 to $300.00, it is affordable for many women.

LaCoste

LaCoste is mostly known for polo shirts and even tennis wear but at their latest show, they proved that there is a lot more to the line. They definitely were on top of the print trend, showing prints head to toe with matching top, shorts and jacket or top and pants. Another thing I loved was the sheer, trench-style jackets. They even had leather showing up in their collection and I for one could not be happier to have leather for every season! LaCoste Collection ranges in price from $100.00 up to about $700.00.

Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger has been a staple in the fashion world for years and exemplifies classic Americana. For spring 2013 Tommy Hilfiger is still the brand that we know and love, but with the volume turned up. There was a lot of bold pattern including bold stripes. There were menswear inspired suits done in stripes as well. Hilfiger showed sweater dresses that looked like an oversized cardigan and also flowing floor length dress, that could easily take you from the beach to dinner. Tommy Hilfiger has different price points, Collection is slightly higher but still starts around $400.00 and goes up to $800.00.

Diesel Black Gold

I have to admit that Diesel Black Gold is not a collection that I was super familiar with, when I heard Diesel I just assumed jeans, however this collection was more than I ever expected. It was young and cool and even a little daring. The price point is around $300.00 to $600.00. Like most other collections, they showed a lot of black and white and sheer details, but what I loved was the oversize mesh. It was a different take on the sheer trend and was a little edgier. I also loved the short sleeve leather bomber and yes, the high-low hemline was back again so keep your legs in shape over the winter!

J. Crew

J. Crew has shown over the last few years that is much more than just good quality basics for those that love a little preppy in their style. It is much more on the cutting edge of fashion, but still classic and timeless. I loved the neon that they still had showing for next spring, including neon yellow and orange and bright pops of color in the shoes. There were a lot of patterned blouses and of course bold, mixed prints. There were classically styled suits but done in pattern head to toe. This collection was fun and colorful and makes me want spring right now! J.Crew Collection typically ranges from $100.00 to $500.00.
