Fashion Fridays – Versace for H&M is Coming

We’re still feeling giddy over last week’s Denver H&M grand opening, and lucky for us, there’s even more exciting news surrounding the Swedish retailer. Versace for H&M is in stores tomorrow!

The Versace for H&M collection started like any other high-low collaboration. The announcement about the duo was made, photos of the pieces slowly made their way out to press and an in-store launch date was secured. But unlike any other fast-fashion partnership, there was huge NYC soiree, complete with Hollywood hotties, a runway show and a Prince performance.

Last week, celebs like Uma Therman, Jessica Alba, Blake Lively and Chase Crawford turned out at Manhattan’s Pier 57 dressed in H&M for Versace duds and ready to preview the entire Versace for H&M collection. Prince and Nicki Minaj performed at the star-studded event, which included the legendary brand’s head honcho, Donatello.

The line is available in US stores starting tomorrow and it might be worth the headache. Versace’s signature stamp is apparent – from the chainmail minis to the palm tree embossed tops to gold studs to brightly printed silk scarves.  Prices seem a bit higher than the usual capsule collection collabs, but it’s a whole lot cheaper than Versace’s traditional collection prices: a leather jacket with studs is $300, a chainmail dress runs $250, most dresses are $150, shoes are around $130 and men’s shirts button up at $50.

There are some rules about shopping the collection to help keep the chaos more controlled. Check them out here.

Will you be purchasing anything from Versace for H&M?
