Fashion Friday – Glitz and Gaga at the Grammy’s

I love music. I love music even more when fashion’s involved. So, the Grammy Awards are pretty much a field day for me.

The biggest night in music was filled with eccentric performers and creative artists, but, for the most part, the fashion was predictably cliche and uninteresting. Musicians shined in standard gold and glitz.

Lady Gaga did the craziest Glenda the Good Witch interpretation I’ve ever seen, but isn’t that what people expect? Imagine if she showed up in a gorgeous LBD? Rihanna looked angelic (and boring) in a white, feathered gown. I rely on her sex appeal and was highly disappointed by the Elie Saab frock. Beyonce looked silly in, what I consider to be, a wetsuit. I appreciate that the novel fabric was a risk, but the Stephane Rolland look is sinking her ship.

There were a few styles that revved my fashion engine: Katy Perry looked perfectly pretty and subtly sexy in her Zac Posen. I love the nude color, open back and touches of embellishment. Taylor Swift was styled to a T, in a chic off-the-shoulder, glittery Kaufman Franco number. And, Fergie looked sizzling in a blue Pucci mini.

However, Usher wore my favorite look of the night! He looked classy and still pushed the fashion boundaries in an Emporio Armani tan suit and oversize check shirt. The aviators added edge to the ensemble. Thanks to him for “ushering” in some true fashion at the Grammy’s.
