The Book Of Mormon

The Lowdown: The hit musical The Book of Mormon has made its way to Denver for the second time. The play, which features the story of living a Mormon life, serving a Mormon mission and more, is written by famed South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone with help from Robert Lopez. Leave it to those guys to make a musical that’s hilarious and yet also slightly informative.
MoJaBlu Concert Series

Three Things, Any Three Things

The Lowdown: The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver presents Three Things, Any Three Things. The exhibition features charlatans, animals, goons in one category, malingering in another and frantic techno as the third. Comprised of works from artists Renee Kadlubek, Anton Kruger and Lewis Neeff, the special exhibition smashes three things together without making connections beforehand, just to see how it works out. Go before 7 p.m. for happy hour on the roof — to prep for the possibly disjointed mix of art.
ODESZA Pop-Up

The Lowdown: Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Denver presents Consuming Nature, Nature Consuming. The event features a piece of art that requires a performance, created by Kristen Hatgi Sink. Sink filled a tank with 115 gallons of honey and then has a model perform in the honey — all of which happens on the main floor of the MCA. Be sure to arrive early to grab a spot to watch. And yes, it’s actually honey.
Heavy Metal Flea

The Lowdown: The free concert series at Levitt continues with performances from Flor De Toloache + Los Mocochetes. Flor De Toloache is an all-female mariachi band that mixes mainstream and traditional music with mariachi instruments. Los Mocochetes is a local Chicano funk band with seven members that creates intensely charged music.
