Denver Fashion Weekend presented by Schomp MINI is almost here! The three-day event kicks off tomorrow night with the Burton and local men’s boutique show. On Saturday, local designers and boutiques will hit the runway, and Sunday is all about the Hair Show.
If you’ve never been to DFW before, there are a few things you should be aware of before braving the cold and experiencing Denver’s largest, most well-produced and most creative runway experience.
Each night, the doors at DFW will open at 7:00 p.m. There will be a cocktail party for the first couple of hours where there will be bars, small plates from local eateries, pop-up shops, a DJ and more. Get your photo taken and hang out before the runway show begins.
Denver Fashion Weekend is held at City Hall on the east side of Broadway (1144 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203). There is street parking, but there are also parking lots located nearby. We suggest parking in one of the two lots across from the street from the Denver Art Museum’s 12th and Broadway building.
What to Wear
DFW is all about fashion and creative expression. There isn’t a dress code, but we suggest going all out in your most fashionable attire. Whether that means you wear a street wear look like you’ll see on Thursday night, you wear a dress, suit or you come in jeans, that’s up to you. Here are some ideas.
If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, hurry because they are almost sold out for all three nights. There are general admission (standing room) tickets along with seats (VIP). Purchase tickets here.
Hungry? DFW will have a variety of food vendors offering small plates and bites. No food will be available to buy, but taste some of Denver’s best sweets, coffee and delectable appetizers. Food vendors include: Milk + Cake, Huckleberry Roasters, Ace Eat Serve and more.
If you’re worried about whether or not there will be a bar, don’t worry. Because there will be at least five working bars at DFW. They will take cash and card, so come thirsty. There’s one bar in the cocktail area upstairs, two bars in main venue. and two in the Schomp MINI lounge area.
NIGHT ONE is Burton night, accompanied by local men’s boutiques. See the latest trends in street wear, mountain gear and more with four of Burton’s collections and see what Denver has to offer for menswear! Other brands besides Burton include Age Carriers, Jiberish, Featured clothing and MyPakage.
NIGHT TWO of DFW is all about local fashion. “Under the Gunn” contestant Stephanie O. will be showcasing her Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Local boutiques Steadbrook, Inspyre Boutique, Andrea Li, Eccentricity, KADYLUXE and more will show off what they are currently selling for the fall/winter season!
If you haven’t been to the Hair Show on NIGHT THREE, you’re about to experience something magical. The Hair Show is all about being creative with big hair, long locks and wild wardrobes. Be prepared to be awed and see something special from each of the participating salons. They include J Audrey Hair Studio, a special presentation by the producer Charlie Price, Aveda, Redken and more.
