Taste of Colorado Returns

When: August 29th- September 1st
The Low Down: Denver’s largest food festival of the season returns to Civic Center park for another fun filled Labor Day weekend. This year’s “Fine Dining in The Park” will include cuisine from The Broker Restaurant, Cork House Restaurant, La Cour Bistro & Art Bar, Randolph’s Restaurant and Solitaire. Pro tip: Bring plenty of cash as food vouchers cannot be purchased with a credit card.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream Birthday Celebration at Shine
Where: Shine Restaurant & Gathering Place, 2027 13th Street in Boulder
When: Saturday, August 23rd, 7pm-12:30am

The Low Down: After checking out brunch at Shine last year, 303 has been a fan of this gluten-free, paleo friendly, addition to Boulder dining. Complete with a brewery and potion room, this restaurant always has a touch of magic. This weekend, celebrate Midsummer Night’s Dream-style with the Emich sisters, triplets and owners of Shine, who turn 40 this August 23rd. This party, complete with free tarot and psychic readings from 7-9pm plus music, dancing, and specials, is the perfect chance to check out Shine again or for the first time – and definitely order a potion.
Whiskey and Wings in Winter Park
Where: The Village at Winter Park Resort
When: Saturday, September 6th, 12pm-5pm
Cost: Admission is free and taste tickets are available for $1
The Low Down: If you think whiskey, wings and mountain views is a recipe for a great day, then this is the festival for you. This year, you’ll also be able sample grilled food desserts, and sides like fried pickles while voting for your favorites as you go. Plus enjoy live music, grilling demos, competitive eating competitions and more.
