Fashion Fridays – Frocks of the Future

Here at 303, we love hearing about new and exciting movements in the fashion world. So, when we got this release, we were fascinated about the future of fashion.

Introducing the first ever solar powered dress. With all the eco-fashion that is fashionable as of late, it was inevitable that a solar powered garment would surface.

Last month at the 26th annual Cornell Design League fashion show, where other aspiring designers showcased more conventional creations, Abbey Liebman, a Senior at Cornell University, demonstrated her vision of the functional fashion with a pink, solar paneled dress.

A fashion first, the solar powered dress uses very thin, flexible solar cells to power small electronic devices like cell phones and iPods. The USB charger, where the electronics get plugged in, is completely concealed in the waist, making this a wearable (albeit not washable) frock.

Sounds like you can wear this dress and be charged up for a night out on the town.
