In true typical Colorado fashion — the weather is once again confusing as hell. But despite the snow last weekend, it’s not winter quite yet and the forecast is once again looking sunny. That is great news for the folks over at Improper City — RiNo’s new bar meets coffee shop meets food truck park — that opened back in July. The last part about the food trucks, however, is only truly becoming a reality this weekend with the space opening its massive new patio on Saturday. The 12,000-square-foot space is claiming bragging rights as the city’s largest with enough space to host six food trucks. Alongside the trucks you’ll find plenty of seating with picnic tables, soon t0-be-added Adirondack and fire pits for those colder nights.

To celebrate the opening of the patio, and your new favorite spot on those unseasonably warm Colorado days, Improper City is hosting a slew of events. Saturday will be its official opening party (although you can still check it out on Friday) and there will be free beer from 2 to 6 p.m. courtesy of Avery, Stone, Epic and more alongside a free pig roast. There will be live music starting at 2 p.m. with another set at 5 p.m. and a band and DJ later that night. Food trucks will be on hand as will several vendors like Rowdy Mermaid, Belong Designs and more. On Sunday, there will be yoga on the patio from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (also free, but you need to RSVP) and if you’re a dog owner, bring your pup in afterward for a “Yappie” happy hour with free dog treats for your fur baby. Food trucks and live music will also be present on Sunday as well.

If you want to squeeze in a few more patio hangs before the season officially ends, check out Improper City this weekend and keep it top of mind whenever the weather warms up next.

Improper City is located at 3201 Walnut Street, Denver. It is currently open from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The patio opens this Friday, October 19.
