This week, Summit Music Hall announced that its opening would be delayed due to unforeseen construction delays. The LoDo venue closed in June of this year for massive renovations alongside Marquis Theater. Both venues were acquired by Live Nation in January and announced lineups that included STS9, two Tycho DJ sets, two nights of Against Me! and more.

Marquis was scheduled to open August 12 but currently is also canceling shows due to construction delays. Summit was scheduled to reopen after a renovation this week with its first show — an intimate STS9 concert before the band’s two nights at Red Rocks — and was later moved to Paramount for similar reasons. The full statement was posted to Facebook and can be read below.
“Due to unforeseen construction delays at Summit, the STS9 show on Sept 6th has been moved to the Paramount Theatre (located at 1621 Glenarm Place less than a mile from Summit in downtown Denver). All tickets originally issued for Summit will be honored at the Paramount. Doors (8PM) and Showtime (9PM) will stay the same. This show will be general admission with a first come first served GA pit.”
In addition, the Stone’s Throw Party with Mayer Hawthorne on September 8 at Summit has been canceled and Marquis Theater has canceled all events until September 15. No news has been announced yet on Escape the Fate’s show at Summit Music Hall still scheduled for September 12. Live Nation declined further comment on the matter.
You have no idea how bummed I am about the stone’s throw party being cancelled three days before the event, with no other venue as a substitute. I was travelling from Durango (six hours), had a sitter for my son, had hotels booked, time off from work. So very disappointed and upset with this establishment.
