Stephanie Brown, known artistically as Robo Kitten, is a Colorado native and self-taught contemporary artist. Her work explores identity, emotion, and the human experience through a blend of realism, abstraction, and symbolic imagery. Inspired by a deep desire to travel and connect with others, she practices in a way that reflects the belief that we come to know ourselves through shared experience and human connection.
While her work often reflects moments that feel raw or heartbreaking, she incorporates subtle humor and the vastness of space to process and soften those experiences. These contrasting elements guide viewers through reflection, release, and healing, while offering perspective and connection to something greater.

Her newest solo exhibition, ‘Somewhere Between Who I Was,‘ will be on view July 17th- 19th at The Art Gym in Denver, Colorado. The exhibition explores identity as something constantly shifting, shaped by memory, experience, loss, and growth. Through symbolic feminine identities and emotionally charged composition, Brown captures the tension between who we were and who we are becoming.
The weekend-long exhibition will include a ticketed VIP opening on Friday, a free public viewing on Saturday, and a ticketed brunch experience on Sunday. Guests can expect an immersive environment featuring music, drinks, and opportunities to engage directly with the artist.

Q and A with Robo Kitten
Q: What inspired the title Somewhere Between Who I Was?
A: Living life and gaining wisdom through new experiences. My mind reached a point where I realized that ‘somewhere along the way have become altered’. We exist in a perpetual state of between where we have been and where we are going. I think my art dances with that concept pretty well.
Q: Why was it important for this collection to hold humor, darkness, softness, and discomfort all at once?
A: Because you need one to understand the other. If I only gave you darkness and discomfort, you would walk away with only darkness and discomfort; that is not my goal. With humor and compassion, I can help lift you from that space and guide you toward light. The contrast is what makes the emotional experience complete.
Q: What do you hope viewers take away from this exhibition?
A: I hope they feel understood as individuals. That they connect to something raw within the human experience. I want people to recognize that it is not only okay to feel discomfort but that it is necessary in order to become who we are meant to be.
