The weather is getting better and Denver has some great events to get you out. Kick off your weekend at a Ski/Snowboard Wax & Tune Night and end it by celebrating March in Runnin’ of the Green! Whatever you plan on doing this weekend, make sure and take a look at this roundup of events in Denver.

Thursday, March 8

Ski/Snowboard Wax & Tune Night

The Lowdown: Prost Brewing Company holds a Ski/Snowboard Wax & Tune Night. You can get a tune and wax from Rocky Mtn Ski Tunes for only $20. As your equipment gets ready for you, you can sip on a brew in the taproom.

Blow Up!

Where: Syntax Physic Opera, 554 S Broadway, Denver

The Lowdown: The UCD Photography Club presents Blow Up!, a film screening in the basement of Syntax Physic Opera. The film features a story set in 1960’s London of a photographer who discovers a dead body in his negative darkroom by accident. The film is directed by Antonioni. All ages are allowed at this screening.

 

Music Video Bingo

You can listen to these lady bosses, laugh at some great comedy and celebrate the awesome ladies who have made their mark on Denver. A portion of the proceeds goes to The Women’s Foundation of Colorado.

Zuni Street One Year Anniversary Party

King Lear

The Lowdown: The Bakery welcomes King Lear, one of Shakespeare’s famous plays. The play follows King Lear — a monarch with a misunderstanding of where his children’s allegiance stands — as he tries dividing his kingdom between three daughters. He battles rejection and chaos as he is discarded by his daughters and loses everything.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail

The Lowdown: Head over to Littleton for the cult classic Monty Python and The Holy Grail. The Alamo Drafthouse Denver presents a viewing of the hilarious film and a chance to meet author Charlie Lovett. You can watch the film and then move to the Tattered Cover Aspen Grove to meet Lovett and get a look into his new book ” The Lost Book of the Grail.”

The Lowdown: Run for some sweet cereal at a Lucky Charm 1M/5k/10k. You can race in one of the distances or all three of them on a timed and measured course. The race is bare bones — you don’t get a medal or a shirt at the end, but you do get a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal when you finish.

Rocky Mountain Horse Expo

The Lowdown: Rackhouse Pub pulls out the stops this weekend with Art on Tap! You can sip on a beer while getting to create amazing art.
