While this past weekend’s 4/20 Rally at Civic Center Park was postponed due to “circumstance beyond our control,” according to organizer Miguel Lopez, Denver has plenty of events to recompense. Between the plethora of upcoming concerts and events, it’s clear that the unofficial celebration of all things marijuana is about as big as the damn 4th of July in the Mile High City.

As the logic goes, you may find yourself a little hungry (or thirsty) this upcoming Wednesday. Below, seven events worth indulging in.

Nazareth Release at TRVE Brewing Co.

When: 7:06 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Where: 227 Broadway #101, Denver

Cost: Free. More details here.

It’s only fitting that a brewery known for crafting beers around musical artists and albums would brew a double IPA in honor of stoner metal band Sleep’s seminal “Dopesmoker” release. Since its first release in 2013, Nazareth has created a buzz in the craft beer community, thanks to its massive hop aromas and sweet malt backbone and monstrous ABV. Heed Sleep’s advice and “Follow the smoke toward the riff-filled land” to TRVE this Wednesday to raise a pint in honor of the Weedian.

Rosenberg’s Bagels & Delicatessen, the Five Points hotspot that celebrated 4/20 last year by infusing smoked salmon with THC, will serve a one-day menu this Wednesday. To help diversify conventional stoner food offerings, Rosenberg’s will serve breakfast all day, offer twists on childhood favorites such as pizza bagels and feature inventive creations such as a matzoh ball soup sandwich.

The four-course dinner features a friendly head-to-head competition between the two hop-forward breweries and giveaways. Tickets are $45 per person with limited seating available.

When: 4:15 p.m. – 11:59 p.m.

Where: 2927 Larimer St, Denver

Cost: Free. More details here.

While the organoleptic properties (taste and smell) of Humulus lupulus (hops) and Cannabis sativa (marijuana) could theoretically imply common ancestry, the science is a little hazy. Regardless, to commemorate this kinship, Finn’s Manor is inviting patrons to #drinkthedank by tapping nine hop-forward beers, including selections from Melvin Brewing, Comrade Brewing Company and 303 favorite Juicy Bits from WeldWerks Brewing Company.

Doors open at 4:15 p.m. to ensure the beer is flowing once the witching hour strikes. Be sure to hit up one the food trucks stationed at Finn’s Manor to pair with your beers.

4/20 Tapping at World of Beer – Cherry Creek

When: 4:20 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.

Where: 660 S Colorado Blvd, Denver

Cost: Free. More information here.

Head down to World of Beer – Cherry Creek at 4:20 p.m. on the dot for a tapping of Lagunitas Brewing Company’s Waldo’s Special Ale. Based out of Sonoma County, California, the brewery has been involved in mild hijinks over the years, including infamous “4:20 parties” that led to a 20-day suspension and one-year probation from the Alcohol Beverage Control. While the brewery has adopted a more straight-laced approach in recent years, its beers are just as dank. And Waldo’s Special Ale, a massive Imperial IPA that clocks in at 11.5 percent ABV, is no exception.

Where: 4910 Nautilus Ct. N, Boulder

Join Avery Brewing Company at its Boulder taproom to celebrate the 20th birthday of its flagship Avery IPA. The self-described “dank party,” which lasts from 11 a.m.-11 p.m., will commemorate two decades of the first packaged Colorado IPA. The brewery will pour special iterations of its hoppy brew and serve up munchies such as pork taquitos, brisket nachitos and an ice cream sundae made with their very own Raja Imperial IPA.

Dunbar Kitchen & Tap House is hosting a special 4/20 dinner paired with beers from Dad & Dudes Breweria. Tickets are $40 and will include appetizers and three courses paired with four 10-ounce pours.
