motetHappy Monday, Denver. Hopefully you’re reading this post from the comfort of your own couch on this lovely Martin Luther King Day and enjoying a mimosa in your slippers. Not only has it been sixty-five degrees and sunny all weekend, but the Broncos are going to the Super Bowl. Things sure seem swell these days. La de da.

And the icing on the cake? 303 Magazine is giving away a free pair of tickets to our favorite local funk band’s album release party this weekend. The Motet will be performing along with Orgone, Snarky Puppy, and DJ Mikey Thunder at the Fillmore Auditorium this upcoming Saturday, January 25.

There will be a slew of other specials guests joining the Motet on vocals, horns, and percussion to celebrate the release of their brand new, self titled studio album. Doors open at 7:30pm, so don’t be tardy. The Motet has strategically arranged an all star line-up of high energy funk for our boogying pleasure. Be prepared for a long evening of bouncy beats, soulful grooves, and psychedelic improv and collaboration. Just another night in Denver.

Make sure to check out 303 Magazine’s interview with the Motet’s Dave Watts, where he discusses album release party details (including all of the special guests!), New Year’s resolutions, and Colorado’s legal pot.

How do you win the tickets? Visit 303 Magazine’s Facebook page at noon to find out.
