Striped pants have long been feared by prospective buyers for their inability to help morph and change outfits. They are seen as a dominate piece in anybody’s wardrobe and lack versatility making them a dead end buy. After a few looks here and there striped pants seem to loose their allure. So here at 303 Magazine, we teamed up with Parrish Skinner, stylist at fab’rik Denver to give you One Pant Five Ways. We choose a black and white, striped pant that can be easily worked into just about any look. Don’t believe us? Then take a look below as we transform these fab’rik pants into five different looks.

Look 1

fab’rik Printed stripe pants $66; Orange, ruffled off-the-shoulder top $42; Long, black choker $18; Black, suede booties $52

Stripes are typically confided a neutral now and can be worn with just about any outfit. So for our first look we wanted to go all out and prove that you really can mix prints and patterns. We are loving this off the shoulder top which you can easily transition over to autumn. The long black chocker adds a much needed, delicate touch to this busy look. We love how well these two piece work together to make a stand out look. “Contrary to traditional styling, pairing different patterns is no longer a faux pas, but rather a confident step towards mixing like a pro. Bold stripes pair perfectly with soft floral’s and edgy leather accents; the juxtaposition is fresh and cool – the epitome of our fab’rik customers!” – Parrish Skinner

Colorado Inspired

We kept it simple with neutrals and denim for this look.

We kept it simple with neutrals and denim for this look.

After styling such a bold look we really wanted to tone it down and go for something easy and Colorado inspired. So we paired those striped pants back to denim, keeping in mind simplicity. A white tie up top is sexy for the summer without going overboard and can be worn multiple ways. We are especially loving the layered necklace look, complete with western inspired ideals without being too literal.  “A denim jacket is not only a classic staple, but a true must-have transition piece. It can be thrown over a sundress in the summer or layered with warm-weather tanks in the fall. For this look, the addition of the bolo and turquoise detailing embodies the true spirit of Colorado flair.” – Skinner

Flowy and BoHo

We wanted to showcase these striped pants in a variety of styles and knew it could instantly work with those more aliened with their inner hippie. Mimicking the flow of these pants, we threw on a black and white printed kimono to keep … A black, form fitting crop top worked well underneath to give this look some much needed definition to keep it from losing edge. A nice gold, tassel necklace adds some shine and texture.  “Kimonos are the essence of boho chic. From Coachella to Manhattan to the Rockies, we’ve seen girls rocking this trend everywhere this summer and it’s here to stay for fall.” – Skinner

Something Sophisticated

We pumped it up for the next look and wanted to create something a bit more sophisticated. Toning it down with a darker top and tan colored jacket makes for classy look. You an easily take this look to work with a full coverage top, then easily transition for a night out on the town. We also love this caged heel which gives off a bit more personality. Overall we are loving this look for its pre fall vibes.”This look exemplifies the quintessential Denver trendsetter. A floppy hat effortlessly accents any bohemian ensemble with feminine genius. ” – Skinner

Our very last look is easy and simple. It requires little work and be easily mimicked with pieces you might already have in your wardrobe. This tan colored tank can be worn untucked for a flowy look or tuck it in to add some defanation. This chambary top can be thrown on for some warmth or eaisly tied around the waist fora 90s flare. Once again this look is a great way to transition on over to fall. “Easy does it; adding a chambray button-down is a simple way to make any look smart-casual; while a neutral top underneath, allows for eye-catching accessories to help create a distinct statement.” – Skinner
