If you’re anything like me when it comes to holiday shopping – stressed out and overwhelmed about where to go to get the perfect gifts (and how to do it in the most efficient manner) – then you’ll be glad to know that there’s now an app for that. Cherry Creek North recently unveiled the “Visit Cherry Creek North” smart-phone app so that guests can make the most of their visit to the shopping district.
The app coincides with the first holiday season since the completion of “The New North” renovation, which includes the new Fillmore Plaza, improved parking (thank God for that) and a makeover of the district’s holiday décor. The app allows visitors instant access to real-time advice and insider knowledge about shopping, dining and other activities in the area. It also includes GPS technology with localized content to help guests find specific merchants or categories of merchants (such as clothing, art, dining or entertainment). Even better, users can make restaurant reservations and access special merchant deals straight from the app.
For example, I checked the app today and learned that Cherry Creek North is offering free valet parking (between 1st and 2nd avenues on Fillmore Street in front of Loro Piana) on Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 24. I also learned about other deals such as: Oster Jewelers offering 25 percent off the purchase price of a piece of jewelry with the purchase of a watch or other piece of bling; Antoine du Chez offering holiday spa packages for $265; and Earls Kitchen & Bar offering “$10 Burger & Beer Weekends” on Saturdays and Sundays. The maps also are really easy to use. For instance, I just located a Chase Bank on 1st Avenue and Detroit Street that I never knew was there. That little piece of information will save me a lot of driving in the future.
The app is free to download, and it’s available on most smart-phone platforms like iPhone and Android. Although the app has been released just in time for the holiday shopping season, it is definitely here to stay.
