The Fall air brings about warm feelings of cute sweaters and the impending winter ahead. Fall also brings about major charity season, where it’s time to move inside for red wine and great comfort food. Well, this season of charity events has it all for you!
Kick off the first Fall weekend with with Wine and an Auction for the Kidz! Saturday, September 24th, Bidz 4 Kidz is having an evening filled with wine, live music, and an auction benefiting Dolls for Daughters & Kenzi’s Kidz, their largest fund-raiser of the year. MAD WineBar at the DAM is the location for this festive event. The organization hosts a Toy Shop every December, donating over 4,000 toys to under-privileged kids in the Denver area. Tickets for the event are $65 which include drinks, appetizers and of course the live entertainment!
This weekend ends with a wonderful event in Boulder where, on Sunday September 25 at 5:30pm, the St. Julien Hotel & Spa plays host to Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) annual dinner Local Legends Gala. Our friend Chris Parente, feature reporter and anchor at KWGN-CW2 and host of Colorado’s “Everyday” Show on Fox31, hosts this fabulous event! The event will help BCAP raise funds to pay for its efforts to provide assistance, advocacy and education to those in Boulder County and beyond who are infected with or affected by HIV. Ed Wolf, Guest Speaker is an educator, trainer, writer and storyteller. Ed Wolf has been working continuously in the HIV/AIDS epidemic since 1983, as chronicled in the award-winning documentary film, “We Were Here” (which premiered at Sundance earlier this year and which makes its theatrical debut in NY and LA this week). Finally for the food it’s going to be a showcase of Boulder Chefs. The culinary creations of some of Boulder’s finest restaurants and chefs, will be hosting “Chef Stations” with samples of their cuisine. Participating restaurants include Jax Fish House, Aji Latin American Kitchen, Laudisio Italian Restaurant, The Mediterranean Restaurant, Jill’s Restaurant & Bistro, Ras Kassa’s Ethiopian Restaurant, Zoe Ma Ma, and Piece, Love and Chocolate. Sunday evening of drinks, food, and supporting a great cause is the perfect end of the first Fall weekend!
