What a great thing to celebrate–that likely gorgeous building just down the street from you, filled with fantastic, old-smelling books and infinite knowledge at your fingertips.
It’s National Library Week, in fact, we’re smack-dab in the middle of it. Denver Public Libraries are recognizing National Library Week from April 8-14, encouraging local readers to get out to their nearest branch and support libraries. And National Library Week is about more than just reading a borrowed book. It’s a reminder of everything that libraries offer us.
Here are some awesome examples, courtesy of the Denver Public Library:
- Research your family’s history at the Central Library’s Western History and Genealogy Department
- Attend a class or lecture with the Fresh City Life or Fresh City Life My Branchadult cultural programming
- Try out our digital collection — download an eBook or eFlick to your personal device

- Bring the kids to a storytime
- Learn about a new technology — check our line-up of free classes at our Community Technology Center
- Watch a video of Denver City Councilwoman Judy Montero talk about why she loves the Library
