It’s the weekend of the Fourth of July meaning the festivities are endless. Though plentiful, there’s also quite an assortment this year. Between a beer run at Declaration Brewing, a Christmas in July party and of course the classic music and fireworks there are more ways to celebrate our independence than you’d think. In addition to the holiday festivities, we’re back with another 303 Pool Party, cool concerts and a tap-takeover perfect for summer. Here we go, Denver–another holiday weekend is here so let’s get out and celebrate.
303 Magazine Summer Pool Party with DJ Dan
When: Sunday, July 3 from 12-7 p.m.

The Low Down: Break-out your American flag swim-trunks and bikinis for this July fourth weekend pool party with 303 Magazine. DJ Dan will be mixing the beats while you enjoy some time to cool-down and volley beach-balls with your friends, or just admire the beautiful views of the Riviera at Breakers Resort. Be sure to grab your ticket for the next pool party on August 7 with DJ Walter White and Danny Marin as tickets are sure to sell out fast.
Christmas in July in America
When: Sunday, July 3 at 8 p.m.
Where: The Ginn Mill – 2041 Larimer St., Denver
Cost: $20 all-you-can-drink
The Low Down: Glow sticks, Santa Claus, and an ice-luge–talk about a unique fourth of July event. Celebrate Christmas and the fourth of July all on the same day with this wild and wacky event at the Ginn Mill. One crispy twenty-dollar-bill gets you all you can drink making this one affordable way to get out and have a good time this Sunday. Proceeds also benefit the Autism Society of Colorado.
The Juan MacLean DJ Set
When: Saturday, July 2
Where: Club Vinyl – 1082 Broadway St., Denver

The Low Down: For those of you excited for the upcoming LCD Soundsytem Red Rocks shows, let us not forget about other DFA artists. This duo, comprised of John MacLean and Nancy Whang, blend experimental synth songs with subtle dance-beats using a variety of instruments from flutes to strings. Frequent vocalist Whang (who unfortunately is not on the lineup for this set) is also a member of LCD so we can only hope for a surprise appearance. Honey Soundsytem will be opening this one-of-a-kind DJ set at Club Vinyl on Saturday and look out for our coverage after the show.
Black Project Tap Takeover at Former Future
When: Friday, July 1 at 2 p.m.
Where: Former Future Brewing Company – 1290 S. Broadway, Denver
Cost: Tap takeover is free to the public – $75 for the Brewers Table (more info on that here.)
The Low Down: This week at Former Future, Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales will be taking over the taps to bring back some of their old favorites as well as some unreleased ones. The menu includes a Kalamar with Fruit, a Peach Rye Whiskey Dreamland and a never before released Project Saison. Independence Eve
When: Sunday, July 3, 8-10 p.m.
Where: Civic Center Park – Denver
Cost: Free
The Low Down: Start celebrating Fourth of July a day early in Civic Center Park on Sunday night with fireworks, live performances and an extravagant light show. Lawn seating is available but it’s sure to fill up fast so arrive early for a good view of the show. Chris Daniels and the Kings will be performing along with a patriotic presentation by the 101st Army Band (Colorado National Guard).
I Love the ’90s with Salt-N-Pepa, Vanilla Ice, & More
When: Friday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m. (doors at 6:30)
Where: Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater – 6350 Greenwood Plaza Blvd, Greenwood Village

The Low Down: Salt-N-Pepa, Spinderella, Vanilla Ice and more will be taking over Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater this weekend in a wonderful celebration of the ’90s. This touring concert series has been making it way across the country and will finally be in Denver on Friday. For a full line-up check out the event page here.
Cherry Creek Arts Festival
When: Friday, July 1-Monday, July 4
Where: Cherry Creek North, Denver
Cost: Free
The Low Down: Cherry Creek North will be undergoing a transition this weekend, turning itself into one of Denver’s largest art festivals expecting over 350,000 visitors. During this four-day festivity there will be culinary demonstrations, presumably live-art and of course an assortment of art vendors. In addition, the festival will have a beer garden and live music for their special Festival Nights series.
Stars & Stripes Express Fest
When: Sunday, July 3, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Where: Union Station – 1701 Wynkoop St., Denver
Cost: Free
The Low Down: The Stars & Stripes Express fest outside of Union Station is returning for its second year this Sunday. Featuring live music, family-friendly activities and of course the beautiful scenery of lower downtown, this event is gearing up for a fun-filled July 4 preview. The Terminal Bar has expanded the patio to twice the size for ideal outdoor drinking so be sure to bring your sunscreen and booze money for this one.
Declaration Brewing Co Beer Run
When: Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m.
Where: Declaration Brewing – 2030 S Cherokee St., Denver

The Low Down: What better place to participate in a Fourth of July beer run than Denver’s own Declaration Brewing Co. Dress up in your favorite patriotic attires-swimsuits, hats or full-fledged costumes for this unique 5k. You can skip, hop, run or even crawl, through the route of your choice where there will be guides along the way to make sure you begin and end at the brewery. You’ll be presented with a refreshing beer to cool down upon your return. In addition, there will be live music and plenty of free swag so get out there, exercise and drink some beer all for a good cause.
ROHO – A Tribal Experience
When: Saturday, July 2 starting at 9 p.m.
Where: EKŌ HOUSE – 5201 York St., Denver

The Low Down: This unique event has promised live music, aerial dancers and fire spinners for an exciting evening at EKŌ HOUSE. Local DJ’s will be performing along with drummers and dancers guaranteeing a one-of-a-kind cultural experience. Being a small and intimate venue, EKŌ HOUSE is the perfect locale for an exciting evening just like this.
Open Music Sessions
When: Friday, July 1, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Denver Open Media – 700 Kalamath St., Denver

The Low Down: Every month Denver Open Media hosts a showcase in collaboration with other local businesses to support Denver music. There will be a stage set up outside, Sexy Pizza and Illegal Pete’s serving up the cuisine, and local comedian Zac Maas. The Take will be performing alongside a few other artists you can find here.
