Tis the season to be busy. With so many holiday events to attend, shopping to be done, and cookies to be baked, it can be tough to find the time to fit everything in. That’s why we’re giving you some ways to make the holidays a little more relaxing with suggestions for where to eat on Christmas along cocktail recipes and a last minute getaway.
Christmas Eve/Day Dinners
Tamayo
Where: 1400 Larimer St., Denver, CO
When: December 24, 2014, open until 9 p.m.
Cost: Filet special, $30. Regular menu also available.
The Low Down: Want to impress your guests or just treat yourself on Christmas Eve? Head to Tamayo where you’ll get to enjoy the lights on Larimer Square while indulging in their Christmas Eve dinner special: a grilled 8oz. baseball cut filet mignon with truffled-mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, chile-morita demi glaze and Oaxaca cheese.
ViewHouse
Where: Both ViewHouse locations – Ballpark, 2015 Market Street, Denver, CO and Centennial, 7101 S. Clinton St., Denver, CO
When: December 24, 2014, open 11 a.m.-close with specials available after 5 p.m. Also Viewhouse will offer the regular menu on December 25, 2014 beginning at 5 p.m.
The Low Down: Not in the mood to cook for Christmas? No worries. Both of Denver’s ViewHouse locations will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so you can have a deliciously stress-free holiday. Stop in after 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve for celebration-ready specials like Blackened Wild Caught Salmon ($22.95) with lemongrass basil beurre blanc, lump crab and caviar and ginger scallion jasmine rice or the Rosemary Smoked Pork Tenderloin ($21.95) with bourbon maple apple compote, three cheese risotto and roasted vegetables for.
Argyll Whisky Beer

When: December 24, 2014 starting at 5 p.m., bar- open until 2 a.m.
Cost: $35 for prix fixe 3-course meal
The Low Down: Have a proper english Christmas dinner (minus the goose) at one of Uptown’s best new restaurants. Argyll will dish out a three-course meal on Christmas Eve featuring dishes such as a traditional roast and sticky toffee pudding. Add in a tumbler of whiskey from Argyll’s massive collection (over 250 offerings) or a fine glass of wine to cap it off. Pro tip: Looking to do something after? Lola Mexican Fish House

The Low Down: Break from typical american fare this Christmas by making a reservation at Lola. This popular LoHi restaurant will dish out a special treat with family style paella along with half priced bottle of wines. Weekend Getaway
Garrison Brothers’ Tasting in Aspen
Where: St. Regis Aspen Resort- 315 East Dean Street, Aspen, CO 81611
When: December 19 at 6 p.m.
The Low Down: This weekend only, Garrison Brothers Distillery, (recently named American Micro Whisky of the Year by the 2014 Whiskey Bible) will host a tasting of its Texas straight whiskey bourbon at the St. Regis Resort in Aspen. The event is open to the public and will feature appetizers, live music and crafted cocktails. Attendees will also witness the making of a barrel-batched Manhattan, which will age until New Years Eve where it will be served at the St. Regis NYE celebration.
