Galactic Gold: A Celebration of Curiosity, Community & Cosmic Style

It started with a single dreamer—naturalist Edwin Carter—who believed that nature deserved to be studied, celebrated, and protected. That belief turned into a collection. That collection sparked a movement. And 125 years later, that movement has evolved into the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, a place where generations of Coloradans have explored their passions, asked big questions, and discovered new ways to connect with the world around them.

Now, it’s time to celebrate the legacy that curiosity built.

On Friday, August 8, 2025, the Museum invites you to the Galactic Gold Celebration—a dazzling, one-night affair unlike anything else in Denver. Imagine an evening where high desert meets deep space, and cowboy boots pair perfectly with stardust sequins. This is more than a party. It’s a time machine, a thank-you note, and a toast to the next 125 years of wonder.

Why Galactic Gold?

The name is a nod to the Museum’s history and future—gold crystals on display in the early 1900s, and galaxies now projected in the Gates Planetarium. It’s about how science and imagination have always gone hand in hand here. It’s about honoring the explorers, the educators, the kids, the families, and the visionaries who have walked these halls—and lighting the spark for what comes next
