Five guys. Five microphones. No instruments. For 25 years, Boulder’s Face Vocal Band has built its sound around what five voices can do together — and built a community of listeners along the way.
On Sunday, November 8, the Colorado group will return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a 25th-anniversary concert. For a band that began in Boulder and became the first all-vocal group to headline Red Rocks, the return offers a chance to celebrate its history with the community where it started.
For longtime fans, the afternoon promises familiar songs and a look back. For newcomers, it’s an invitation to experience a rock performance powered entirely by the human voice.
Face’s approach brings together layered harmonies, vocal percussion and the energy of five performers sharing a stage. Without guitars, keyboards or a drum kit, the voices carry everything: melody, rhythm and the moments that make an audience lean in.
That sound has taken the group well beyond Colorado. Face has competed on NBC’s The Sing-Off, headlined at Edinburgh’s Festival Fringe and opened for artists including Jon Bon Jovi, Barenaked Ladies and Culture Club & Boy George. But its connection to home remains a central part of the story.
In 2025, Colorado Sound listeners voted Face the “Artist You’d Drive 105.5 Miles to See.” It’s a fitting award for a group whose longevity depends on people continuing to show up, bring friends and make another concert part of their plans.

“We started Face because we love to perform and make music together,” the band shares in its anniversary announcement. “We like to think that our music makes a positive difference in people’s lives, and that’s why fans have continued to support us for 25 years. We are deeply grateful to still be able to do what we love for as long as we have.”
The Red Rocks celebration will draw from that shared history. According to the band’s announcement, the set will include songs spanning its career, fan favorites that haven’t been performed in more than a decade and appearances by former members. Graham Good & The Painters and Grace Campbell will open the show.
The anniversary also looks toward Colorado’s next generation of musicians. Face says a portion of Red Rocks ticket sales will support its TIGER Grants, which help school music programs with technology, instruments, guest clinicians, equipment and resources. The fundraising goal is $10,000 or more.

That gives the celebration a community purpose beyond the stage: a band marking 25 years of making music while helping young Coloradans get their own start.
With doors opening at 2:30 p.m. and the show beginning at 3:30 p.m., the concert offers an afternoon gathering that carries into the evening. Bring the friend who introduced you to Face, the family member who never misses a show or someone who has yet to hear what five voices can create.
