We are at the halfway mark for Denver concerts in January, folks. Although this month is halfway done, there are still plenty of musical happenings to check out over the next two weeks. Now is the perfect time to get out and explore a new venue, fall in love with an unfamiliar band or see your favorite local acts in action. Whatever you decide to do this week, be safe, have fun and enjoy the list below.

Recommended: Can’t Be Satisfied: Blues Night @ Hi-Dive

South Broadway is one of Denver’s best areas for all things food, booze and music. It also happens to be where we are kicking things off this week. On Monday night, South Broadway’s Hi-Dive is hosting their monthly “Can’t Be Satisfied: Blues Night.” This free event includes blues-themed DJs Al Eschen and Brian Buck who will be spinning some classic blues vinyl as well as live music. If you haven’t checked out the Hi-Dive yet, this is the perfect occasion to get on down to their neck of the woods.

On Wednesday and Thursday nights, Austin-based indie band Wild Child is venturing up to Denver to take over The Bluebird. Late last year, Wild Child released a three-song EP titled 1996 which acts as some excellent recommended listening and insight to their indie-pop/rock sound. Ever since 2011, Wild Child has been on the move and continues to gain momentum. Fellow artist Batty Jr. is joining Wild Child on Thursday night as well. Sunday, January 20

Recommended: RJD2 w/ Mikey Thunder, JusChill @ The Ogden Theatre

To wrap this week in concerts up on Sunday, Philly-rooted RJD2 is returning to Denver and taking over The Ogden. Two years ago, RJD2 gave Denver a stellar performance at The Ogden and, according to our writer, “reminded us what DJ’ing is all about.” It’s good to see this artist return to the Mile High City and we can’t wait to see what he pulls off in 2019. Fellow artists Mikey Thunder and JusChill are joining RJD2 on his Denver stop as well.
