The Owners of Mile High Station are Opening a New Event Venue

The owners of Mile High Station are opening an event venue on Larimer Street.

The space, built in the early 1900s, will have 7,000 square feet of event space with an open floor plan and large bar. And while the building is one of Denver’s oldest, the team behind this extensive project plans to bring it into the modern era.

“We wanted to offer a modern, open space and still keep some of the original touches like the exposed brick and steel beams,” explained Concrete Express owner Joe O’Dea.

The Ironworks building was originally occupied by Midwest Steel Company and produced a framework for many of the buildings that can be seen in downtown Denver today. Mile High Station, across from where the soon to be IronWorks event venue is located, was opened in 2001 and has given new life to this once industrial area, much like IronWorks plans to do. Meow Wolf also has plans to open right next door in 2020 — making this area soon-to-be hotspot.
