25 Unique Things to do in Denver this Weekend

The sun has almost set on June but Denver has some great events to keep it light. Kick off your weekend by learning about oceanic animals at Science Lounge and end it by visiting the zoo at the Denver Zoo Field Trip. The Lowdown: Denver Museum of Nature & Science presents Science Lounge. You can learn about the amazing creatures of the sea during the night of science fun. The museum allows you to take a look at the collection of seashells, coral and other sea creatures to see how diverse the ocean’s biosphere really is and why we need to protect it.

Mile High Blues

Super Smash ROLL

The Lowdown: Lace up your skates for a smashing time at Super Smash ROLL — the video game-themed night where you can roll out and skate around the other players. You can also sing your heart out during karaoke and dance your pants off all night long to beats from DJ Soup.

Denver Tattoo Arts Convention

6th Anniversary Bacchanal

The Lowdown: TRVE Brewing celebrates six years with a 6th Anniversary Bacchanal. The event features two nights of music and beer. 14th Annual Scramble Campbell Red Rocks Art Experience

The Lowdown: Participate in the art installation of JUMP (bring us together). The installation, created by Stuart Semple, features an inflatable floor that allows the public to bounce around on. The jumping provides a feeling of unity that gives joy. The installation is the last hurrah of the Happy City: Art for the People city-wide art transformation series.

Cask Thief

South Platte RiverFest

Denver Zine Fest

The Lowdown: Find the best zines in Denver at the Denver Zine Fest. You can peruse from more than 90 zinesters, comic artists and more, color with Lowbrow Denver, participate in the Zine Olympics and listen to The Narrators on a “Rejected” theme.

Denver Zoo Field Trip

Where: Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele St., Denver

Cost: $20 (price of regular zoo admission)

The Lowdown: Ratio Beerworks presents a Denver Zoo Field Trip. You can take in the sights of the Denver Zoo while sipping on a brew from Ratio Beerworks and hanging with the Ratio team. The kiosk will be located right by Bird World and the carousel in the zoo for the rest of the summer, but this is your only chance to hang with the Ratio crew.
