March is nearing the end and Denver has a load of events prepping for the start of the new month. Kick off your weekend by celebrating all things female at Lunafest and end it by not stressing about Easter brunch at Easy Easter. The Lowdown: Celebrate the end of Women’s History Month by watching some amazing short films at Lunafest. All of the films in the fest are made for, about and by women. Lunafest is a traveling short film festival that celebrates all things woman. The proceeds from the event benefit the CWC Women’s Leadership Scholars Program. Free LUNA bars are given out to all attendees, because, duh.

That Time of the Month

The Lowdown: Meet other women to build friendships, network and support your female community at That Time of the Month. You can sip on drinks while you mingle with other ladies and hopefully have many conversations that pass the Bechdel Test. Admission is free with a donation of unopened packages of tampons, pads, panty liners, or gently used bras. You can also participate in a feminist-themed raffle.

Annual Animation Show of Shows

The Lowdown: See a collection of animated short films at the Annual Animation Show of Shows. The event features 16 animated short films from around the world. The films featured in this year’s show focus on ideas surrounding our place in society and how we as people fit into the world during an epidemic of global anxiety.

The Market Beautiful

The Lowdown: Vintage White has teamed up with The Market Beautiful for a vintage market. More than 100 vendors from all over Colorado and the surrounding states will have their handmade and vintage products out for you to purchase. The event is one of the best vintage markets in Denver.

Ballet Directors Choice

The Lowdown: The Colorado Ballet closes its season with Ballet Director’s Choice. The event features a collection of ballets including Pillar of Fire by Antony Tudor, Brief Fling by Twyla Tharp and a surprise third work. Each ballet was chosen for its beauty and prowess.

5th Annual Collaboration Beer Fest

The Lowdown: Grab a glass of great beer at the 5th Annual Collaboration Beer Fest. Hailed as the “most creative beer event ” in the country by Food & Wine, the fest features more than 150 breweries collaborating to create over 100 beer projects. The Colorado Brewer’s Guild facilitates these projects and then puts them all together for a beer fest to beat all beer fests. You can try new and rare tappings that you will not find anywhere else. Ticket price includes an unlimited amount of tastings, so be ready to try some brews and have a designated driver on the way home.

Blue Moon Celebration

Four of the best Goth/industrial DJs — DJ Nitrogen, DJ Batboy, DJ Dave Vendetta, DJ Rexual — spin dark beats all night long and COVENANT, an industrial synthpop band performs live. Hoppin’ Half
