What to Do If You’re Single AF on Valentine’s Day in Denver

Many in the Mile High are making Open Table reservations and locking down flower deliveries for February 14. You, on the other hand, find yourself single AF and swiping through Tinder in an attempt to land someone in time for the big day. If this is you, put down the phone. Valentine’s Day is about love, in all forms. And while Denver may not be the nations most “romantic” city, there are plenty of events to look forward to for all in the city this Valentine’s Day:

If You’re Trying to Drink

The Lowdown: BRU in Cherry Creek is extending their love of beer to you this Valentine’s Day with a beer dinner. They’ll pair IPA’s and ales with oysters and more. So if your ideal significant other looks like a freshly poured cold one, make your way to BRU on the 14th.

A Drink Made For Singles at the ART Hotel

The Lowdown: February can be a cold month in the Mile High, especially if you don’t have the luxury of cozying up with your honey. Singles can warm up this Valentine’s Day by the fire at Denver’s ART Hotel while enjoying the “Lonely Heart Drink,” a cocktail specifically created for solo sippers. The concoction consists of Altos Reposado tequila, lemon juice,  simple syrup and cabernet topper.

Where: Ratio Beerworks, 2920 Larimer St., Denver

The Lowdown: Ratio Beerworks is going old-school and putting the mystery back in match-ups.  The dirty laundry dating show is Denver’s only live dating show where local singles can compete to go on a date with mystery dreamboat guests. Risk it for the biscuit this February 14th at Ratio. Entrance is free, so what do you have to lose?

Mardi Gras Masquerade

The Lowdown: Valentine’s Day isn’t just for those in a relationship. And if you’re using the 14th as an excuse to secure a babe for next year’s day of love — the Fox and Hound’s Masquerade Ball is the place to be. Come disguised and ready to dance. The ball will feature New Orleans style food, drinks and dancing.

Valentine’s Day ’90s Block Party

The Lowdown: If you’ve considered bringing back the frosted tips, now’s your chance. Bellco Theatre is hosting Guy, an American hip-hop and soul band and creators of the popular ’90s new jack swing style, and featured guest Teddy Riley in a throwback block party. In addition, the party will feature Jagged Edge, Ginuwine, 112 and Next in a line-up that is sure to bring you back to the days of Walkmans and Wu-Tang.

Galentine’s Day Brunch Crawl

The LowdownIf you’re looking for an excuse to drink and dress up with your crew this Valentine’s Day, Poka Lola is hosting a 1970s party to take their guests back to the days of disco balls and go-go boots. There will be a costume competition at 8 p.m., complimentary polaroid cameras and featured cocktails. Space is limited and though entrance is free, we recommend securing your spot now.

This concert is going to be a blast, whether you’re looking to fall in love with music this Wednesday or spending Galentine’s day with the girls. Doors open at 7 p.m.

 

If You’re Looking for Adventure

Puff, Pass and Paint 

When: Thursday, February 15, 7 – 9 p.m.

The Lowdown: Some prefer green flowers over red roses. If you’re one of those people join the puff, pass & paint class Thursday, February 15 for a step-by-step painting class. The two-hour class includes an instructor, all painting supplies and an 11″ x 14″ canvas. All those in attendance are encouraged to BYOC (bring your own cannabis) and BYOJ (bring your own joy.) The 14th doesn’t have to be all red wine and filet mignon, especially if you’re over 21 and looking for a Mile “high” Valentine’s Day experience.
