The Underground Music Showcase (UMS) released its second wave of the 2017 lineup this afternoon. This brings the list to 254 scheduled performers for the 17th annual event. In addition to that lineup, a new headliner was added. Zola Jesus will join Esme Patterson, Benjamin Booker and Red Fang to round out the highlighted acts. She is an American singer-songwriter with a haunting croon that is sometimes compared to Florence Welch. The announcement comes just hours after the artist announced an upcoming album and released a single. You can hear that single below. No other headlining acts will grace the UMS main stage (now located at the abandoned Kmart at 363 South Broadway). However, more acts will be added to the overall bill. UMS is known for showcasing upwards of 400 bands so check back to see who else is added to the docket.
