Stranahan’s Rare Whiskey Festival Returns for a Second Year This Weekend

Stranahan’s Distillery is back with its second annual Cask Thief event this Saturday, June 24 from 5 to 9 p.m. Guests have the opportunity to steal a sample directly from some of Stranahan’s most rare barrels, hand-selected by master distiller Rob Dietrich. The event promises the select barrels will be “six distinctly aged casks  — the unique, the misplaced and the forgotten, all pulled from the depths of [the] rack-house for the first time.”

In addition to the whiskey samples, the event also has a pig roast on used Stranahan’s barrel staves from Blackbelly, dessert, two live bands and a demo from Stranahan’s barrel makers Independent Stave Company. Stranahan’s will sell additional cocktails for purchase at the lounge and bar.

Stranahan’s is located at 200 S. Kalamath St., Denver. For more information on Stranahan’s history and whiskey-making process, click here. Tickets are available for $65 and can be purchased here
