Denver Fashion Weekend (DFW) is almost here and tickets are going fast. If you haven’t purchased your seats yet for Denver’s biggest night of fashion you can do so by clicking here.
Taking place at Denver’s City Hall Amphitheatre on November 10, 12 and 13, these three nights of fashion will bring out the city’s most fashionable men and women. Last season’s attendees went all out, dressing to showcase their unique styles and personalities. Some went for a more glamorous approach channeling Hollywood red carpet looks while others took full advantage of the androgynous trend. This year’s event is certain to bring out more of Denver’s creatives and new looks we can’t wait to see. But if you’re still searching fashion magazines and the web for inspiration, look no further. We’ve talked to a few of Denver’s most fashionable people to get a glimpse of what they might be donning for DFW Fall 2016 and some styling tips and tricks.
Leslie Clay, Owner of fab’rik Aspen Grove
“This dynamic look is guaranteed to turn heads. Fashion isn’t just the combination of clothes you throw together to create an outfit – it’s the art of head-to-toe styling and expression. 303‘s DFW is the time [to] display this distinct craft; that’s why I’ve carefully selected this vibrant romper that will surely spark conversation given it’s unique and deliberative placement in the Denver fashion scene. The romper ($64) and criss-cross bra ($18) are both fab ‘rik and the choker is Fabulina designs ($29.)” – Leslie Clay

“One of the latest trends in fashion is telling a story with the fabrics you choose. I chose this dress from Zara because it does exactly that. I’ve paired this look with a jeweled choker from Anthropologie, which is a hot trend right not. Then I decided on a pair of metallic heels because they are neutral and add some funk to any outfit, just a tip of mine. I finished it off with my leather jacket for some added edge. For Denver Fashion Week, try wearing a velvet midi or a silk dress, or perhaps make your look interesting by switching up your nude pumps for metallic ones.” – Luna Nemeth
Vanessa Barcus, Owner of Goldyn Denver
“I’m a huge fan of being comfortable and fashion-forward, and I don’t think the two need to be mutually-exclusive. I love these statement-making wide leg pants by Apiece Apart, and with the addition of this leather moto jacket by Iro along with a raw diamond necklace (or two or three) from The Woods, the look is dressed up to go from work to a night out at DFW.” – Vanessa Barcus
Michael J Gurule, Blogger
“I chose a simple fall approach – Layering a classic gray cable knit sweater (Uniqlo), a tailored white oxford (Banana Republic), and a festive pair of stretch chinos (Gap). I finished the look off with some of my favorite accessories. Brown leather watch (Bulova), brown leather textured belt (Banana Republic) And of course… the shoes. I decided to go with my favorite pair of boots this fall. They’re classic enough that I can dress them up with a suit or play them down with my favorite pair of denim (Johnston & Murphy).” – Michael J Gurule
Aaron Rodriguez, Fashion Stylist/Writer, Blank Canvas Fashion
“There’s two things I value in my closet for any stylish outfit, pieces for an all-black getup and a good jacket. Wearing all black might seem like it’s a big trend right now but the beauty of the mysterious color is that it’s always in and doesn’t need to be messed with. If anything, you won’t look out of place wearing all black. At the same time, a good jacket elevates any outfit you’re wearing. What prompts me to this particular jacket is a love for Moto apparel, and it adds a masculine edge and pop of color.” – Aaron Rodriguez

“I absolutely love to wear all black, it’s always my go-to when I’m struggling with what to wear. While an all-black look may sound boring, it’s actually really versatile. For this look, I went for a statement top and leather leggings for a simple, yet stylish, look. Off the shoulder and bell sleeves are two really big trends we’re seeing right now. I love that this top combines both. When doing all black, you’re able to experiment with fun makeup trends. I like a bold lip to add a pop of color to a monochrome look. When experimenting with new trends or tops you might be unsure about (like the one I’m wearing), go for a ‘safe’ color to ease yourself into a major trend or look. Happy fashion weekend Denver friends!” – Mallory Sauer

“I love everything about Denver Fashion Week! Attending is every fashionista’s dream come true. Planning my outfit for this highly anticipated week was so much fun. The perfect way to make an outfit come to life is by adding accessories. I love wearing black and add a pop of color I styled my pencil skirt with a gunmetal cropped-top and added this fall’s must-have accessory, a choker. Then I added a bold longer neck and a simple bracelet to complete my look.” – Andrea Avila
