Denver’s annual film film festival is rolling out the red carpet for one of Hollywood’s elite. Academy Award nominee Emma Stone will attend the opening night of Denver Film Festival (DFF) on November 2 at Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Stone is attending DFF for the screening of her new film La La Land.  The film, set in Los Angeles, is co-starred by Ryan Gosling and directed by Damien Chazelle, who is best known for directing Whiplash. Chazelle will also be in attendance on opening night and both will participate in a Q&A following the screening, which will be moderated by local film critic Lisa Kennedy. DFF will also present Stone with the “39th Denver Film Festival Excellence in Acting Award.”

“Emma Stone’s awe-inspiring role as the hopeful actress and playwright Mia in La La Land is just a glimmer of her real-life trajectory, which has continued to impress audiences and critics alike,” said Denver Film Society Festival Director Britta Erickson. “The 39th Denver Film Festival is honored to recognize her diverse, poised and authentic work, which shines brightly throughout her entire body of cinematic characters.”

Tickets for DFF, happening November 2-13, are still available and can be purchased here. Then make sure to grab a ticket to the screening of La La Land, as it’s already a favorite for Best Picture at the 2017 Oscar’s.
