The Lowdown: Calling all developers, designers, marketers and anyone else with an entrepreneurial spirit — Denver Startup Week is waiting for you. Powered by the Denver community, this event is the largest of its kind in North America. While engaging with industry leaders, you can also sit in on sessions that will demonstrate the very best in today’s technology, DIY, marketing, leadership and much more. The Lowdown: Join Voodoo Comedy for a night where improv and stand-up comedy come together to bring us the love child that is 5 Words. Local comedians will stand up on stage devising jokes, songs, impressions, anecdotes and whatever else they can come up with based off of five suggestions given to them on the spot. Voodoo Comedy Playhouse offers a fully-stocked bar that requires no cover charge or drink minimum.

Ping Pong on the Plaza

The Lowdown: So much more than ping pong, this event also allows you to contribute to a good cause while enjoying appetizers, listening to music, interacting with local celebrities and participating in a costume contest. This event is courtesy of the IMA Foundation and all proceeds will go to fund a number of Denver-area nonprofit organizations. Check-in begins at 3 p.m. and the ping pong tournament kicks off at 3:30 p.m.

The Lowdown: Say goodbye to cycling season with Pedal the Plains. This event welcomes cyclers of all speeds and ages. Participants will tour the charming towns of Ordway, Fowler and La Junta as well as the wide open plains between them. The Lowdown: Denver native and star of the television series “Silicon Valley” TJ Miller will once again be bringing the spotlight to his hometown. Miller will be at the Paramount Theater this weekend filming a special for HBO to be produced by Funny Or Die. This performance in Denver will kick off his Meticulously Ridiculous Tour.

Chris Anthony Youth Initiative Project Presents: Inspire4

The Lowdown: The Chris Anthony Youth Initiative Project began when professional skier and Colorado native Chris Anthony became a youth mentor for Colorado Ski Country. Anthony developed a classroom program and visits a number of school throughout the year. The mission of the Youth Initiative Project is to “improve quality of life through introducing youth to educational and enrichment opportunities.” During the Inspire4 event at the Bluebird Theater, attendees will spend an evening with Greg LeMond, three-time World Road and Tour De France Champion.
Adventure Fest

The Lowdown: Adventure Fest 2016 is a day for all adventure seekers, outdoor lovers and athletes as Gociety brings the mountains to the city. Take part in a number of activities including cycling, running, rock climbing, yoga, outdoor cooking, swimming and much more. Also enjoy a food truck village and a beer garden featuring Lagunitas Brewing Company, Upslope Brewing Company and Great Divide Brewing Company.
Cherry Arts Festival at Stanley

The Lowdown: The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is a nonprofit event that was created to provide access to art experiences for the general public and support arts education across schools in Colorado. 1830s Rendezvous & Spanish Colonial Art Market

The Lowdown: Morrison’s Tesoro Cultural Art Center is committed to protecting and sharing the artistic treasures of America’s past. All Tesoro events are inspired by Colorado’s rich history and are meant to involve locals and educate the community on our cultural heritage. At the 1830s Rendezvous & Spanish Colonial Art Market visitors can expect to experience mountain men and women demonstrating and selling their moccasins, beaver skin hats, buckskin outfits and more. You can also witness primitive fire-making, rope making, blacksmithing and scrimshaw.
