The Greater-Denver area’s coolest beach party will be returning this weekend with Sand in the City for all ages. Fans of music have the option of attending a rare MGMT DJ set or the Global Dance Festival Dancer Auditions at Church Nightclub. For friends of food, you should know by now that Denver is home to probably the coolest local pickle company–The Real Dill–who’s doing a beer pairing event, and New World Cheese has collaborated with the Chocolate Lab for a cheese, beer and chocolate tasting. All of that and much more will be taking over the streets and parks of Denver this weekend, so get ready for a fun and exciting few days.
Sand in the City

The Low Down: Colorado’s premier beach party returns to Arvada this weekend with an exciting lineup of events for all ages. There will be luau’s, ukulele lessons, local beer, food trucks and of course enormous sand sculptures. Benefitting the Arvada Chamber of Commerce along with a variety of other Arvada non-profits and businesses, this a great way to have fun for a good cause.
TEDxMileHigh: Make + Believe

The Low Down: Your favorite podcast will be returning to Denver this weekend with renowned guest-speakers and must-see lectures. Non-profit organization TED is known for its TED Talks which feature unique insights on everything scholarly, religious, curious, inspirational and spiritual as well as exploring the realm of dreams and possibilities. With over 15 speakers and 25 exhibitors this is truly a one-of-a-kind event you should consider this weekend.

The Low Down: For those of you beginning to get withdrawals from the closing of ski season, fear not because the Denver-area is about to get our first indoor ski and snowboard facility. The venue provides your equipment as well as an accessible bar equipped with wine, beer, hot chocolate and more. Birth of Cool – A Pickle Party & Beer Bonanza
When: Saturday, June 25, 12-10 p.m.
Where: Spangalang Brewery – 2736 Welton St., Denver
The Low Down: Spangalang Brewery will be re-releasing their Cucumber Gose for this beer and pickle pairing event. Prepared for the day will be a five spice, lotus root pickle with a pho inspired brine as well as a garlic-citrus diacon radish pickle with whole cone cascade hops. The Mike Schwartz Band will be providing the tunes and there will be a pickle contest with prizes and all for those who bring their own homemade batch.
MGMT DJ Set

The Low Down: Ex-lawyers turned soul-searching legends are performing a rare DJ set this weekend. This is a great excuse to put on your dancing shoes and see what the two indie-rock legends can do behind turntables. This exciting event will be celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Lipgloss at Bar Standard. For fans of cool DJ sets, be sure to check out The Juan MacLean’s next week at Club Vinyl.
Art Land – The Exchange

The Low Down: Art Land is a local collective of artists that fuel an environment of fashion, music and of course art. Working with local businesses and artists alike, they have exchanges where consumers can buy prints and support their local talent. This farmers market for local artists is free and taking place at Mile High Spirits this Saturday.
Meet in the Street – 16th St. Mall
When: June 25 & 26, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. both days
Where: 16th St. Mall – Downtown Denver

The Low Down: Meet in the Street is a recurring summer event that will be taking over different Denver locales and beefing them up a bit. This weekend they’ll be at the 16th St. Mall where streets will be closed to vehicles, sidewalk cafes expanded and fun events taking place that you wouldn’t typically see happening at the mall–fitness classes, live music, cultural performances and more. Summer Flea

The Low Down: This two-day bock party with over 200 vendors returns to Denver this weekend. Libations will be provided by New Belgium Brewing, Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey and other local distilleries and the food options will be bountiful. Taking place in and around the EXDO Event Center in RiNo this weekend, be sure to stop by this enormous local flea market before it’s gone until Fall. Get your ticket in advance online and receive a complementary Flea Margarita or New Belgium beer upon arrival.
Global Dance Festival Dancer Auditions

The Low Down: Ladies 18+: put on your best dancing attire and get ready to move your feet. Church Nightclub will be hosting this fun-filled Friday night with live dancer auditions for the upcoming anticipated Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks–so whether you want to compete or just grab some drinks and watch the show, this should be a fun dance event.
