SNÖBAHN is opening an indoor ski and snowboard center on June 24 at The Streets of Southglenn in Centennial. Although these indoor ski centers are popular in European countries, it will be the first one in the Denver area.

While skiing can prove to be costly and time-consuming, with the travel times, passes and equipment required, founder of SNÖBAHN explained his new facility will bypass all these obstacles.

“Our new SNÖBAHN center eliminates all intimidations typically associated with skiing,” said Sadler Merrill, founder of SNÖBAHN, who is a Colorado native and avid skier. “People now don’t need to worry about things like: traffic issues, high costs, braving the elements, long lift lines, waiting for group members and carrying all of their gear from the car to the base of the mountain. SNÖBAHN simply makes skiing easy, efficient and fun for everyone.”

SNÖBAHN provides all ski and snowboarding equipment needed. Indoor skiing may be different than winter skiing, but half an hour of skiing on the revolving slopes is equivalent to skiing seven runs at Vail (3,300 vertical feet). Three-hour-long sessions cost less than the price of a half-day lift ticket at most of Colorado’s major ski resorts.SNÖBAHN Image - 2

“SNÖBAHN is the better and more efficient way to learn how to ski, work on technique and have fun at a fraction of the time and cost associated to access resort snow,” Merill said “For years, friends have been telling me how hard and expensive skiing is for their families. As a father of three young children, this inspired me to do some research, put a business plan together and open this first-class ski training center in my home state.”

The center provides a controlled and comfortable environments for all levels of skiiers, from early learners to competitive athletes. The slopes are designed to make skiing more comfortable, accessible and efficient. The soft nylon tufts, made to mimic the feeling of skiing on snow, can be set to different speeds and angles depending on the skiier’s ability.

For those who would rather sit in the lodge drinking hot chocolate while other ski, they can relax at SNÖBAR, a lounge with beer and wine, snacks and TVs.

SNÖBAHN’s grand opening will be on June 24 and will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.SNÖBAHN Image - 34
