1. Cowboy Boots Are A Must Have

It would be a sin to suggest wearing anything besides boots when it comes to footwear with any of the following outfits. If you are buying your first pair go with brown or black leather so they match with everything. Stiff leather boots are made to be worn snugly, so make sure to break them in before the party.

2. A White Cotton Dress is a Great Staple

Nothing screams Southern belle like a white dress. Whether cotton or lace you can’t go wrong. Pair a white dress with a pop of color like turquoise jewelry or red lipstick.  Warning: don’t expect a clean white dress to stay spotless after a night of line dancing at the Barn Party.

3. Trends to Try:  Off the Shoulder

Cowboys will line up to be caught under a neon moon with cowgirls who rock this chic-casual off-the-shoulder look. There is something about the simplicity of a breathable dress’ relaxed fit that commands the attention in a room. Pro tip: Off-the-shoulder looks highlight the neckline already so skip wearing a necklace and stick with earrings and hand jewelry for this look.

They go together likes Brooks and Dunn or Johnny and June. Pairing prints and fabrics like leather and denim or lace and suede are great options for a unique Western outfit. Even if you don’t think an outfit is necessarily “western” the right accessories like cowboy boots and a denim shirt can make even the most city look have a country vibe.

5. If All Else Fails, Break out the Daisy Dukes

Daisy Dukes are tricky. There is a fine line between chic like Carrie Underwood and that girl throwing up in the bathroom at the Grizzly Rose. Class up short shorts with a long sleeve denim shirt like Miss Colorado (AKA Kelly Johnson) is wearing above.
