This week, we encourage you to get out a little and experience all that Colorado has to offer. Whether you head south to Salida’s Colorado Brewers’ Rendezvous, or make it up to Boulder for this year’s Jul-IPA, the opportunities to celebrate our growing food and booze scene are limitless. The Low Down: Punch Bowl Social is partnering with Breckenridge Distillery to celebrate the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision with the #LoveWins cocktail: a refreshing blend of lavender syrup, lime juice, peach bitters, ginger beer and Breckenridge Bourbon. During the month of July, Punch Bowl will donate $2 from every #LoveWins purchase to The Human Rights Campaign, an organization that works to achieve equality for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans.

The Low Down: Brewers, beer drinkers, and Boulderites are coming together for an evening of craft beer and delicious eats for a good cause. Join West End Tavern for the seventh annual Jul-IPA where you’ll be able sample beer from over 30 local breweries, snack on West End’s signature fare, rock out to live music, and raise money for the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence; a human rights organization committed to ending violence against adults, youth and children through support, advocacy, education and community organization.

The Low Down: This July, Harman’s is celebrating two of our favorite things: barbecue and bubbly. Head on down to Cherry Creek and sample some of Chef John Little’s scrumptious pairings including: spiced lamb ribs with Palisade cherry gastrique paired with a Bera Brachetto from Piemonte, Italy; Smoked carrots, crispy pig ear, and barbecue beans paired with a Soligo Prosecco from Veneto Italy; or pork belly pastrami with peach barbecue, house white bread, and mustard seed slaw paired with a Jean Phillipe Blanquette de Limoux from France.

The Low Down: Before their big debut at the opening of Avanti Food & Beverage on July 13, the chefs at Bones, John DePierro and Michael Nevarez, will give diners a sneak peek of their MiJo menu. For tonight only, stop by Bones for a taste of their globally inspired noodle bowls. Colorado Brewers’ Rendezvous

The Low Down: Head south for a day filled with craft beer, local grub, and live music at the 19th annual Colorado Brewers’ Rendezvous. This year’s event will feature 75 Colorado breweries and some signature brew made especially for the occasion. Added bonus: general admission tickets include a commemorative engraved beer glass.

Where: Happy Heart Farm, 2820 West Elizabeth, Fort Collins

When: Saturday, July 19, 5 – 9 p.m.

The Low Down: Happy Heart Farm is at the center of Fort Collins’ local food scene and a key part of city’s community garden movement. The farm’s owners, Bailey and Dennis Stenson, are eager to share the love with their community at this year’s Heart of Summer Farm Dinner. Guests will dine on a five-course meal prepared by Chef Amelia Mouton of Restaurant 415.  The menu includes expert pairings from New Belgium Beers and wines from Frey Vineyards and homemade treats from Bailey. Proceeds from the tickets will feed families through Friends of Happy Heart Farm.

Caffeine Crawl Denver
