On August 28th, 303 Magazine will celebrate its 10-Year Anniversary with “The White Party”. This Cuban inspired celebration is in honor of our first print issue which was shot by celebrity photographer, Pamela Mougin, in Havana.  All guest must get in the Cuban mood and wear white attire. If you’re looking to take it to the next level, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best places to get authentic Cuban cuisine.  Go out and splurge on empanadas or cuban sandwiches as you get ready for the White Party. Don’t be left behind it’s going to be an incredible celebration!

Buchi Cafe Cubano

Pros:  Incredible mouthwatering Cuban food is served here, Buchi Cafe is a staple for authentic Cuban. 
 
Cons: The dining area is small so keep that in mind if you have a large party. 

 A Cubano or a cuban sandwich is a serious dish when it comes to Cuban cuisine. Most people, especially Miami natives, come to different cities seeking out their favorite Cuban dishes and leave dissatisfied. However, at Buchi Cafe Cubano, the Cuban Mix sandwich delivers on flavor and authenticity. Buchi Cafe is small and intimate and the Cuban sandwiches leave you craving more. Buchi Cafe Cuban may become one of your new favorite lunch spots in Northwest Denver.

Where: Cuba Cuba Cafe & Bar, 1173 Delaware St 
 
Pros: No meal here is complete without their Tres Leches cake, the caramel candy drizzled over the top makes this dish so special.
 
Cons: The food here is more Cuban inspired than authentic Cuban food but nonetheless still delicious. 

 The atmosphere as Cuba Cuba is what first drew me in. You walk into an old house that was renovated into a Cuban restaurant, so that the atmosphere is cozy. Walking in you feel like you are escaping into Cuba, and the food doesn’t disappoint either. I suggest the paella and of course the tres leeches cake to finish.

 

Frijoles Colorado Cuban Cafe

Where: Frijoles Colorado Cuban Cafe, 12095 W Alameda Pkwy 
 
Pros: Frijoles is a hidden gem, you wouldn’t expect it by looking at it but they serve seriously good Cuban food. 
 
Cons: None that I could find! This place is a true hidden gem worth a visit. 

 Everything at Frijoles Colorado Cuban Cafe is fresh and delicious. I myself would never classify Cuban food as comfort food but that was before I tried the empanadas at Frijoles.The staff here is superb and greet you as soon as you walk through the door and always welcome first timers by explaining everything their menu has to offer. In my opinion Frijoles is more of a hidden lunch spot but they do offer dinner options as well. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

 

Whether you’ve never tried Cuban food or are a Cuban food connoisseur, these restaurants should definitely make their way on to your list. Cuban food is packed with flavor and these restaurants are sure to leave you satisfied.
