BEST OF: the FASHION of 2013

Throughout 2013, the Fashion desk at 303 Magazine kept an eye out for the best trends, up-and-coming designers and the best dressed celebrities. The results are in and we’re excited to share with you our picks for the best of fashion in 2013.

up-and-coming jewelry designer:

Abby Sparks

Possibly one of the most creative fine jewelry designers that I’ve ever come across, Abby Sparks is my pick for up-and-coming jewelry designer of the year, but not only because she’s local to Denver. Incorporating color and dimension is something few jewelry designers can accomplish with such poise and perfection as Sparks, and I can’t gush enough about her. From unique engagement rings to statement necklaces, Abby Sparks is perhaps Denver’s best kept secret.

best-dressed celebrity:

Jennifer Lawrence.

When it comes to Jennifer Lawrence, she frankly doesn’t care what anybody thinks about her or her style. Whether she’s being bashed for her weight or who’s she’s dating, Lawrence always shows up to every event looking as fabulous as ever – but that doesn’t mean she throws on a simple black gown and calls it a day. With her unique style choices and fearless attitude, J-Law is our best dressed celeb of 2013.

best local boutique:

If you’ve been shopping in the heart of NYC and you want a little taste of that experience, head to Goldyn in the Highlands for a collection of high-end designers and city charm. Whenever I’m entertaining guests from LA or New York, Goldyn is always my first stop. It’s a taste of big city shopping with hints of local flare.

best make-up trend:

Dark Lips.

It’s no secret that  dark lip shades made huge progress in 2013. From Lorde to Katy Perry, it seemed like every star tried it out – and it works on most. We suggest wearing a long-lasting dark shade of lipstick. For a shade that will stand out in the light or dark, you’re going to need a commitment from it.
