The Denver Art Museum has truly become a tour-de-force among the nation’s art museums. Hot off the heels of successful exhibits such as Yves Saint Laurent, Van Gogh and Georgia O’Keeffe, was the announcement that the DAM in participation with the Clyfford Still Museum (CSM) will present “Picasso to Pollock,” beginning in March 2014. The 50 piece exhibit will feature iconic work from modern masters including: Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keeffe, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Salvador Dali, and Frida Kahlo. One of the most exciting pieces on display will certainly be Jackson Pollock’s rare yet iconic drip painting.

“Picasso to Pollock” is curated by Dean Sobel, director of Clyfford Still Museum. Sobel is drawing upon the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in New York, one of the most esteemed collections of twentieth-century art. Ticket purchase for “Picasso to Pollock” includes a ticket to “1959,” a sister exhibit at CSM February 14through June 15, 2014. This is sure to be a slice of modern art heaven.
