On Thursday, October 8th, BMH-BJ Denver will welcome Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Bryan Fogel, the only Denver native to have won an Oscar, for an extraordinary evening featuring an exclusive screening of ICARUS: The Aftermath.
The highly anticipated sequel to the Academy Award-winning documentary ICARUS continues the remarkable story that captivated audiences around the world. Following its acclaimed premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, ICARUS: The Aftermath will be screened in Denver for the first time since Telluride, and it is not yet known when or where it will be screened again. Variety called the film “an astonishing sequel” that “plays like a white-knuckle spy movie.”
Fogel won the 2018 Academy Award® for Best Documentary Feature for ICARUS, the groundbreaking documentary that exposed Russia’s state-sponsored Olympic doping program. He later directed The Dissident, the internationally acclaimed documentary investigating the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
But on Thursday, October 8th, it will be about more than watching a film. Following the screening, Fogel will take part in a live conversation and audience Q&A, offering guests a rare behind-the-scenes look at the film and the remarkable true story at its center.
Guests can choose from three ticket experiences. General Admission is $75 and includes entry to the movie, live Q&A and fresh popcorn. VIP tickets are $250 and add admission to an exclusive pre-screening cocktail reception with Fogel. VIP+ tickets are $500 and include the cocktail reception, an exclusive meet-and-greet, a photo with Fogel and his Academy Award® Oscar statuette, priority seating, and valet parking.
The VIP cocktail reception begins at 5:30 PM, with the film beginning at 6:30 PM. The location will be provided upon registration.
