Countdown Get-Downs

If you’re anything like me, you’re still trying to figure out what you want to do this New Year’s Eve—and failing stupendously at finding a solution. There are just too many damn things going on. According to Travelocity Denver is one of the top cities to ring in 2012, so pretending there’s nothing going on as an excuse to stay at home and watch the world’s oldest teenager and his minions count it down just isn’t gonna cut it. Here’s a little list of some worthwhile happenings this Saturday night.

16TH STREET MALL

Once again this year the mall will light up with two firework shows beginning at 9pm and Midnight, both timed and choreographed to live DJs spread out along the mall.  The best spot to see the shows, anywhere on the mall, as the fireworks will be shot off from two undisclosed locations along the mall.  Think ice-skating is a cakewalk?  Try it yourself at the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park while Denver’s own DJ Chonz and DJ Baby Boy will spin live at the rink from 5:30pm to 10:00pm.
