Halloween can be a major stress inducer, at least for me. Every year, I end up fretting for months about what I’m going “to be.” Should I go with a sexy kitty outfit because I was so inspired by the costumes in CATS? Or, should I try to be really creative and somehow pull together an intricate Pan, god of the wild, costume? Regardless, I try to stay away from the pre-packaged costumes. Maybe it’s because I always do things the hard way. Or, maybe it’s because this is the one time of year when anything goes, so I might as well go all out.

To make things a little easier this year, Arc Thrift Stores is offering shoppers a chance to win a daily giveaway of $20 or the grand prize of $200 (both in store credit). “Arc Thrift Stores has the biggest selection of build-your-own costumes in Colorado,” says Arc Thrift Stores’ Marketing Manager, Eric Farley. “We don’t carry the expensive pre-made costumes-in-a-bag that someone else at your Halloween party is sure to be wearing. Instead, we feature rack after rack of amazing vintage clothing and unique novelty pieces we saved up all year to bring out for our shoppers during the Halloween season.”

The company has developed a Halloween-themed website where users can dress up a cartoon in a variety of costume ideas, and then submit their creation for a chance to win. Entries will be posted on Arc Thrift Stores’ Facebook page, and the photo with the most “likes” by 11:59 pm on Oct. 30 will win the grand prize (to be awarded on Oct. 31). The website also offers 24 costume ideas with lists of the items needed to create them. This nifty little feature certainly is helpful for anyone who has the same problem I do when it comes to making a costume decision. So, check out the site, play around with costume ideas until you find something that sparks your imagination, and who knows…you just may end up with $200 in the bag.
