Vitaminwater, the fashionable hydrating beverage, is coloring the design world. In a national campaign that highlights the product’s many colors, vitaminwater is encouraging up-and-coming designers to create a t-shirt design, that could be sold alongside exclusive t-shirts created by the well-known CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) fashion designers, including Derek Lam, Vena Cava, and Rag & Bone to name a few.

Not to be left out of the competition, on Wednesday, May 18 from 7-10pm at Denver’s Museum of Contemporary Art, eight local designers will showcase their one  vitaminwater-inspred look and will be judged by style council members Mondo Guerra, Rustin Coburn and Wendy Ledwitz who will award the winning designer with a $1,000 cash prize.

Ten finalists from the national contest will be given the chance to come to new york for Fall Fashion Week where the top t-shirt design will be chosen to complete the collection. The winning designer will also receive a $5,000 grant to help get started on his/her journey to a successful fashion career.

The vitaminwater color collection contest is open to anyone with a passion for fashion, who is 15 years of age or older and thinks they have what it takes to hit it big. Program details can be found at apps.facebook.com/colorcollection. All designers interested in entering will need to submit a completed application, which includes two color sketches of their t-shirt design, a mood board showing inspiration and a short paragraph about themselves by July 15.

Talk about quenching your style thirst.
