We all may regale the physical benefits of a solid yoga practice. And many may connect on a spiritual level as well. Yet if we aren’t also benefiting emotionally and mentally, our practice may be lacking.

World-renowned yoga master Ana Forrest is coming to Denver to teach about yoga as a holistic practice and the healing powers it holds. Forest will host workshops at Root Yoga and will also discuss her new book Fierce Medicine: Breakthrough Practices to Heal the Body and Ignite the Spirit.

With personal experiences rooted in overcoming abuse, Forrest has cultivated a yoga practice that specifically aides those suffering the consequences of abuse. Her powerful journey is detailed in her book, and the proof is in the practice.

“If you want to use yoga to heal emotional pain, you must find out where it resides in your body and learn to take your breath there,” says Forrest. “I don’t teach yoga to help people to transcend. I want people’s spirits to reside in their body. I literally want to help people embody their Spirit, not go through life fragmented.”

Denverites can register for the classes by heading to the Root Yoga website. For more information on Ana Forrest and her book tour, visit www.forrestyoga.com.
