I would happily endure freezing temperatures to witness The Flaming Lips. I don’t have the hots for any weather girls–thus haven’t the foggiest how cold it’ll be in Vail this Sunday–but I do know Wayne Cone and company are touching down for day three of the first ever Snowball Music Festival. Snowball’s premise is simple: fresh powder and fresh sounds. The Lips are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Homegrown heroes Pretty Lights headline Friday night, while Bay Area-based Bassnectar closes out Saturday. The lineup that fleshes out the rest of the weekend is impressive, to say the least. Plus, powder junkies can hit the half-pipe in between. It’s a win-win for both winter sports and music fanatics.
