Well it’s Fall! Fall always kicks off, with a most desired collection of new threads and a calendar that fills before the pool is even drained. That’s right socialites and the likes of, get out your checkbooks it’s charity season!

What better way to kick it off but with a month devoted to a cause? There are many events this month dedicated to breast cancer. Because most are heavily promoted (The Walk, lights on every building in the city), I want to talk about a not-so-promoted one. Key to the Cure, a charity-shopping weekend taking place from Thursday, October 21 to Sunday, October 24, is for the less athletic and more fashion-driven. For the fifth consecutive year, Saks Fifth Avenue Denver partnered with the Denver Health Foundation to raise money and awareness for women’s cancer treatment and detection with a kick-off fashion show and raffle last night. All weekend long purchases made nationwide at Saks stores, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH stores and Saks.com will donate 2% of sales up to $250,000 from the shopping weekend to local and national women’s cancer organizations and research centers.

Staying on my changing seasons kick, the latest and newest Denver landmark, the Four Seasons Denver Hotel has opened!  I have toured the gorgeous new space that boasts a grand ballroom, spacious event quarters, a full service spa with rooftop pool deck, and an edgy new restaurant. Event floor plans range from boardroom meeting spaces to weddings to company parties.  The spa is very well equipped with local Colorado products. I will post a spa review in the weeks to come. And speaking of reviews, look for our review of Edge, the restaurant, in an up coming issue.

The “Four Seasons Embraces Colorado’s official grand opening bash is: November 6th. Like 303 Magazine the Four Seasons is toting local with locally sourced bits & sips, also local entertainment such as Colorado’s own One Republic.

Ticket sales from the opening go to 4 local charities, The Denver Center for Performing Arts, The Kempe Foundation, The Denver Zoo and The University of Colorado Cancer Center. It’s worth the ticket price of $325per person to see One Republic in the Grand Ballroom, will be like your own private concert!  Other entertainment is on the agenda and along with open bars throughout all the event spaces it’s going to be a stellar party!
